The Schlotzsky's 5K Bun Run race is an annual Austin tradition started in 1982 to give the community a chance to run
in support of the Austin Sunshine Camps
(www.sunshinecamps.org).
The traditional long-sleeved t-shirt is a staple among the wardrobe of Central Texas runners. Schlotzsky's 5K Bun Run race
has always been an Austin favorite, and in recent years has become a choice race for competitive professional runners.
Each spring, thousands of runners enjoy one of the best-organized road race events in Central Texas. The Young Men's Business
League of Austin and Schlotzsky's Franchise LLC work together to organize and staff the event. The YMBL all-volunteer organization
was founded in 1913 and exclusively supports the Austin Sunshine Camps. The Schlotzsky's® Bun Run® is the YMBL's primary
fundraiser and they work year-round to ensure that every Bun Run® participant has a terrific experience.
